DEFECTS INSURANCE GUARANTEE

ASUCplus’ Defects Insurance Guarantee (DIG) covers ALL the works carried out under contract at a property - NOT just the subsidence repair.  Only available through ASUC contractors, the one-off LATENT DEFECTS insurance policy gives the client the benefit of a Guarantee on all the works including the structural repairs and drainage, etc.

This initiative from ASUCplus improves on the previous insolvency guarantee offered by its members and now runs for a period of TWELVE years.  Proposed Government legislation to help combat "cowboy" operators will soon mean that all builders and contractors will have to offer meaningful warranties for their works and, with this new Guarantee, ASUCplus believe they are first in the field.

Because the insurance is issued direct to the client on their property, the Guarantee can be included with the plans and specifications in the proposed VENDORS PACK and is a positive asset when selling a property.

The main benefits* of ASUCplus’ Guarantee are:

  • Indemnity policy - client does not have to prove negligence against any party
  • Remains in force even if the issuing company fails
  • 12 year term
  • Covers ALL the contract works and defects in workmanship or design
  • Up to 25% of the contract sum is insured for consquential losses
  • Alternative accommodation is covered for up to 26 weeks
  • Contract sum is index linked
  • Can be passed to any subsequent owner of the property
  • Available on domestic and commercial property

* as with all insurance cover, read the policy document for full details
